During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

Retinol and other Vitamin A derivatives must be stopped 3 weeks after laser on treated areas.
Apply moisturizers and physical sun cream on treated areas and avoid heat.

Laser hair removal can be combined with micro needling for body skin to tighten and rejuvenate. Enough intervals must be maintained in between laser hair removal session and other cosmetic treatment. PIH and melasma patients have to be careful when receiving laser hair removal on facial skins.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidates for laser hair removal are skin types 1 to 4. For skin type 5, a testing pulse would be required before the full treatment.
